I don’t know how many times have i heard this phrase… ” Times are bad la” from my customers and people around me… Its becoming like a chant that monkey god hates when his masters chants if he did something wrong…

Its has become a language not only I don’t understand but irritate the hell outta me! I feel like grabbing them by their neck and stuff my socks in their mouth…
Even If times are really bad… you are not living in this world alone. We all know that times are bad…financial crisis, economy down turn all that crap… No need to remind me… you have your problems… I have mine!!

Although the day hasn’t come to the end yet, but somehow I wish that I’m back home, in my bedroom, and in my covers. Its one of those days that my physical body is in pain and my mood is spoiled for don’t know what reasons… I may just snap at anyone…just anyone. I apologise in advance if i accidentally slit your throat…
I always wanted to do this but the only thing that is holding me back is… my little fear of the sight of blood. I will always feel nauseous when there is a sudden huge flow.
But I wanted to start 2009 with a good deed…and i did.
And finally, my virgin….trip…
My company organised a blood donation drive and without much hesitation, I registered for it.
Flag Day sticker just got bigger
They made me put a humongous sticker to tell everyone that I am doing this for the 1st time. Abit embarrassing man… But the nurses there were really attentive to 1st timers like me. They kept asking me to relax and if there are any discomfort, please sound it out.
But being the action “GungHo” me kept saying… ” Its ok…its ok.. i can take it! ” But little did I know…. the needles that they use can use to kill people…Before the actual drawing of blood, there were a series of questions and test I have to go thru and declare. They will have to see if your blood is of good quality. Apparently sinking blood is good blood which consist enough IRON in them.
Some of the quite personal questions I have to answer.
- Have you donated blood before?
- Did you have any sexual contact for the past 6 months with a partner you know less than 6 months?
- Did you have any sexual contact with the same sex? (for males only)
- Have you fallen sick for the pass 3 weeks?
- Did you have a tattoo done for the past 1 year?
- Do you have more than 1 sexual partner regularly?
After that, the doctor would bring you a private corner to ask you to declare again. Wah liew~~ like going for shooting range in army sia!! Declare and declare again!!
Biggest MuthaF**kin needle!
This is not a needle!!! It a fuckin internet cable used to plucked into the modem. Luckily, it didn’t feel as painful as it seems cos the friendly nurses injected anesthatic beforehand. But I almost jumped out of my seat when I see the needle.
Apparantly, one unit of blood is 450ml. But the wussy me, didn’t manage to fill up the bag… 10mins into it, I feel giddy and feel like I am going to faint anytime. I just made a little comment to the nurse and they immediately plucked out the needle, declined my seat, raised my legs. I almost felt like I was in the A&E room. It was quite drama… But I seriously felt that i am going to pass out.
After that, the doctor told me after 10mins resting, that its normal for 1st time donating blood. You must eat and drink plenty of fluid which I think I did, but apparently it wasn’t suffice. The amount of blood donated was about 250ml – 300ml only… But its good blood as assured by the doctor. It will be put to good use. At least it won’t go to waste… I was made a joke by my colleague that my amount of blood in that bag is not enough to fill up a can of COKE! KNN~~ i feel like a wussy~

By the end of it all, I was given iron tablets to restore the iron lost….
Well, I strongly urge people out there whom you think you can give some blood. Give it!! You never know when u might need it from other people. Apparently, all the hospitals in singapore need at least 350 units of blood everyday! If you don’t give, how can you expect to receive?
Hope the little amount that came out from me will do some good….
So chinese lunar new year is coming, everywhere is playing the same old Ching ka Long Tong Chiang Tong Chiang~~ don’t whether they trying to make us feel festive or irritated?
I don’t know whether its me or it happens to many people, but as age is catching up, I simply don’t look forward to it nor dreading it cos of the holidays I will be getting.
Looking at my parents, they are not jumping in joy everytime the new year comes but become more and more simple every year…due to many reasons.
My brothers, they are always sighing away, telling how financially tight they are, especially now…
Seems like the mood was already long gone….
Ever since they announce that they are going to change the old ezlink card that we use, people are rushing to change their old card to the new one.
“They can be used to pay for purchases at retailers and eventually for Electronic Road Payment (ERP) and car park charges, on top of paying for train and bus rides. “
Senior citizen’s card will be sent to them by mail directly, so no need to queue!
Card replacements can be done at all post office branches, Transitlink office and 13 bus interchanges by Sept 30. “
But DON”T WORRY!!! You got til Sept 09 to change the card. Your existing card is can be used. Ever since its launched on Fri, the queues in post office is mad!! I have a little corner in the post office which has a very big sign, states…….
Remember!! We have nothing, nothing whatsoever, not even close , none, zilch, nahdah, negative anything to do with the exchange of your stupid Ezlink card. Please!!!
The amount of kiasu people in singapore is frightening. Some of them even make alot of noise when they see the number of people queuing. Threaten with the top of their voice. Senior Citizen especially… Goodness!!
SC: ” Why is there no queue especially for the ezlink card??”
Me: ” I’m not sure also, this counter is for personal loans. EZYCASH.
SC: You mean you can’t change it here?
Me: Erm… no sir. But i know if u join this queue, they will change it for u. We are in-charge of loans only.
SC: THIS QUEUE IS SO LONG!! WHO IS THE MANAGER HERE?? Who do i have to speak to regarding about this? LEE HSIEN LOONG? WILSON TAN?? (CEO of singpost) THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING!!!
Me: But sir…you got until 30th Sept to change it. Can come back another day when there are less people.
SC: Oh… is it?? Ok then…. (walks away) But still mumbling away..$#%%^&^##*& inefficient….so long…..waste time…
Me: ??????????????????????????????????????????????
Wonder how many of these crappy enquiries i have to entertain….

Caught 7 pounds over the weekend with karen,
like what my blog title had stated, this show certainly has a plot. Ok… i may seem like a SNAG. But if this show doesn’t move u, i don’t what will.
One thing that i learned from it… be the best you can be and with a good heart and you will never know when someone from somewhere give you a helping hand when you are down in the pits of 18th level of Hades.
So much emotions running in and out of the show… Will Smith has done it again with 7 pounds after a inspiration hit “Pursuit of Happiness”.
She was tearing like mad sitting next to me… I knew she was crying away but I, being a guy.. wanted to join her too but i was inhaling and exhaling heavily beside her. I was telling my tears, ” Don’t fall!! Don’t Drip!! Don’t roll!!” And so…. luckily ego prevailed… phewwww~~~~
For those who watched it… would agree with me. But for those who haven’t watched it yet and wanted to know the story before watching… “Don’t ask me” it would just spoil the whole movie.
2009 has come and many unopened doors to be discovered. One major change that has taken place for me is that my job requires to me change location. Initially from central in town right up to the deep west of the island…
But then again… i welcome this change… I guess its a slight break thru for me. I definitely hope. As I stay somewhere in east coast… i have to ride a gruesome 70km to and fro work. Was complaining to many people ” Fuck man!! Go work …got traffic jam… after work, go home…traffic even more Jammed!” AYE jam! PIE? EVEN MORE JAMMED!! LTA n Singapore government really know how throw u a boulder when ur trapped in a hole…by charging ERP when the its jammed. I am super frustrated stucked in a trafiic jam… “You still take my money!!?? “
But something tells me that its gonna be a good start….when i insert my cashcard in the IU unit….

On the last day of work in Bras Basah, my colleagues over there given me a farewell gift which warmed my heart. It made me actually went “AwwwwwwwWWWww man… you shouldn’t have…”

This card made some crying sounds when u flip open it.
Now…. west has become my 2nd home. Travelling to the west 6 times a week… 420km a week, 1680km/mth… thats alot of kilometres …. need to find a better fuel consumption bike…
To sum it up, i am please with how 2009 had started. Hope its good news all the year round despite the current situation around us….

Wanted to do a eve of new year entry but I guess i’m just too busy…or maybe just lazy. Busy cos my office will be shifting to the west. Freaking Bukit Batok!!?!? Busy packing up my rubbish in my old office.I guess my travelling time will be lengthen by at least 15min to 20mins.
2008 has been a roller coaster ride for me…. Many Ups, one too many downs. Don’t want to come across as emo and blahing away with my misfortunes but let’s be happy that it bought me life learning lessons which money cannot buy.
To my family : I wish I can do something to make us WHOLE.
To my friends : I would not have imagine where I will be without you guys.
